Neuville-St Vaast German War Cemetery

The largest German War Graves cemetery that is in France contains 44,833 burials and is located near Neuville-Saint-Vast, a small village not far from Vimy Ridge. Anyone that is used to visiting a Commonwealth War Grave Cemetery will be overwhelmed by a feeling of deep sorrow once they cross the gateway. There are four burials to each cross and the rows seem to never end. The loss almost of a complete generation of young men. One must remember, they were also fighting for a cause and their country even though their beliefs were different from our own. Godspeed gentlemen, you have earned your eternal rest.

Mögest du in Frieden schlafen!
